Trusted Technology
Because pigmentation is never one-size-fits-all, we first assess its type, depth and contributing factors before recommending the right protocol.
How It Works
AFT stands for Advanced Fluorescence Technology, Alma's refinement of intense pulsed light. Standard IPL fires a broad, uneven pulse, much of it outside the useful range.
AFT converts that wasted short-wavelength light into the therapeutic spectrum and delivers it evenly across the pulse. More of the energy does useful work, at a lower intensity.
That light is absorbed by the melanin in your pigment and the haemoglobin in visible vessels. Both heat, break apart, and are cleared by your immune system over the following days. The skin around them is left alone.
Energy is spread evenly across each pulse, so there are no hot spots and the burn risk drops.
Pigment and redness are treated in the same session rather than requiring separate treatments.
The same heat that clears pigment stimulates collagen, so texture improves alongside tone.
No peeling and no visible downtime. Mineral makeup can go on from the following day.
Inside The Room
Session one prepares and resets the whole face so the laser can reach pigment cleanly. Sessions two to four are the focused correction passes.
Excess oil, makeup, sweat and dead cells are removed. Anything left on the surface scatters the light before it reaches the pigment.
In all four sessionsPapaya and pineapple enzymes gently loosen dead skin cells, helping to reveal smoother, fresher-looking skin and preparing the skin for everything that follows.
In all four sessionsBlackheads and whiteheads are carefully cleared by hand to help unclog the skin and create a cleaner, smoother surface. This step is performed after exfoliation, once the skin has been properly prepared.
Session 1 onlyWhere your skin tolerates it, a tailored peel takes down the upper layer. Applied at the therapist's judgement, not by default.
Session 1 onlyCold gel goes on, then the filtered pulses. You feel warmth and a light flick. Pigment absorbs the energy, breaks apart, and your body clears it over the following days.
In all four sessionsA tailored mask settles the skin after treatment and takes down any warmth or flushing before you leave.
Session 1 onlySPF is applied before you walk out. Treated skin is temporarily more sensitive to UV, and protecting it is what stops new pigment forming while the old pigment clears.
In all four sessionsOther Treatments
At Ivory Aesthetics we have the latest, most advanced technologies at the clinic, which is why our treatment plans are never a one size fits all. When you come in for your consultation, the doctor checks your skin and builds a treatment protocol for you using the right mix of treatments that will give you the best results.
Advanced Peels
A professional mask followed by a structured home-care program for suitable pigmentation concerns. The continuing home treatment is an essential part of the method.
Advanced Laser Rejuvenation
May be considered within selected pigmentation protocols after clinical assessment and skin preparation. One possible component of a plan, with the number and spacing of sessions based on the patient's response.
Advanced Laser Rejuvenation
May be used for suitable individual pigmented lesions and selected deeper pigmentation. ClearLift and targeted Q-switched treatment are different applications within a related laser technology family. The clinician determines which approach is appropriate.
Aesthetic Facials
A professional option that may be considered for selected pigmentation and texture concerns. Biomedical Emporium describes this treatment as microneedling with high-concentration retinol and includes stubborn pigmentation among its intended concerns.
Aesthetic Facials
Medical microneedling with a selected Biomedical Emporium RX depigmenting serum to help improve uneven skin tone and the appearance of dark marks. The serum and treatment plan are tailored to the patient's pigmentation concerns and skin tolerance, alongside appropriate home care and sun protection.
Professional Skincare
A range of professional RX serums and personalized combinations, including niacinamide, kojic acid and tranexamic acid, to help address uneven skin tone and excess pigmentation. Depending on the skin's needs and the formulation's suitability, selected serums can be incorporated into microneedling or delivered using Alma IMPACT ultrasound technology to enhance absorption.
Injectable Skin Quality
May complement a plan when hydration and skin quality are additional concerns. Their role is separate from direct pigment correction.
Which of these is right for you depends on the type of pigment, how deep it sits, your skin type and what your skin has already been through. Professional treatments are introduced, combined or changed according to the diagnosis, your skin's tolerance and your progress. That is what the consultation is for.
Since 2020
Ivory was founded on a simple position: skin is assessed before it is treated, and no two complexions get the same plan. Our lasers are calibrated to your skin at consultation rather than run at one setting for everybody.

Questions
If your question is not here, the doctor will answer it at your consultation. The assessment is free and there is no obligation to book any treatment on the day.
You can, and it will lift the pigment closest to the surface. What sits underneath will still be there, and it becomes visible again as your skin renews. That is the pattern behind almost every "I tried laser and it came back" story. The protocol exists so the correction is finished rather than started.
No. AFT is designed to target excess pigmentation and gradually clear it from the skin. Once treated, the pigmentation is progressively reduced to reveal a clearer, more even-looking complexion.
While AFT can be used as part of pigmentation treatment, another treatment approach may be more suitable depending on your skin condition. During your consultation, the doctor will assess your skin and recommend a customised protocol based on your specific pigmentation and skin needs.
Pigment cleared during your sessions is broken down and carried away by your body. New pigment can still form afterwards from sun exposure and hormonal change, which is why SPF is applied before you leave the clinic and why we ask you to use it daily. Living in Dubai, that part is not optional.
Most clients describe warmth and a light flick, like a rubber band. Cold gel is applied first and the pulses are short. It is one of the more comfortable treatments we offer.
There is no recovery period. You may leave slightly flushed for an hour or two, and treated spots often darken for a few days before flaking away. You can go back to work straight from the appointment, and mineral makeup can go on from the next day.
Usually within one to two weeks of the first session, as the treated pigment lifts and clears. Tone continues to even out with each session, and collagen stimulation carries on for weeks after the fourth.
Session one is a full-face protocol. Alongside the laser, your skin is cleansed, exfoliated with enzymes, extracted by hand where needed, peeled, then finished with a soothing mask and SPF. It clears the surface so the light reaches the pigment properly and sets the baseline for the course. Sessions two to four are the focused correction passes: cleanse, peel, laser.
Often yes. AFT delivers an even, filtered pulse at lower intensity than older IPL systems, which is why it is used for rosacea and flushing rather than avoided because of them. Your therapist assesses your skin and sets the parameters accordingly. If your skin is not a fit for AFT, we will say so and suggest what is.
Stop retinoids, acids and exfoliating scrubs five days beforehand. Avoid unprotected sun, tanning beds and self-tanner for a week. Drink plenty of water for the 48 hours before. Come with a bare face, no makeup or skincare on the treated area. Tell us about any photosensitising medication you take.
